Kitchen Adventures

So many kitchen adventures lately! I just love it - it's so fun to see people take the Foodie Friday recipes and run with them. This week's kitchen adventure comes from Sandra, who tried out Heather's Clementine Cake. Here's what she had to say:
"Hi Rachel! Last weekend I prepared Heather's Clementine Cake. It was our first time trying this fruit. The preparation time is long but that is no problem since most of the time the fruit was boiling in water - while I was reading a book. The rest is so easy. I had a little trouble with the parchment paper because I only had little pieces and it looked awkward on the pan. I thought that the cake would come out ugly but it didn't! I had to bake it for 30 min and then 20 more covered with foil. The result is awesome! And it is true that the next day it is even more delicious. I took half of the cake to work (we are 2 at home) and they all loved it. They had never tried this fruit before so this was a great introduction.
Thank you again for this great idea!"

And here are some great photos she sent along:

Sad for us, clementines are in season around here for all of about 30 seconds, and that was over a month ago, so we won't be trying this recipe until next year, but we're so glad Sandra got to test it out for us! If you are lucky enough to live in a place like Miami, where clementines are still available - try out this recipe! If you do, send me your adventure to projectdogway@yahoo.com
All the former Foodie Friday recipes are linked on the right hand side bar of the blog.

And, as always - you can send me your Foodie Friday submissions to the same address.
Thank you, Sandra and Heather, for sharing your awesome culinary expertise!

The cake looks good. We tried your Poochie Pops receipe for the mini meetup last weekend. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of pugs enjoying them as they went REALLY quick. But please know they were very much enjoyed by our crowd of pugs!!! One pug even licked the bowl clean! =)
