This past weekend we were invited by our friend Allyzabethe (the super fantastic woman who put Pugapalooza together) to a birthday party for her two pugs, Tallulah and Petunia and for Jennifer's pug,
Sequoia. But it wasn't just any puggie party - it was a puggie pool party!!
Clementine and Winston have both attempted swimming in my parent's pool, and neither of them seem to really like it, although Clementine does seem to hate it less than Winston....but they both did really good in the puggie pool. Check it out:

Ok...so actually none of those dogs are Winston or Clementine. But you never would have known, would you?! I didn't get pictures of them swimming because I was too busy hoovering 2 inches away from them at all times. I did get a picture of Clementine winning her sport of treat digging:

Check out the black pug in the foreground of this picture - he is almost completely submerged into the dig paper:

Whoa, buddy. Come up for air already!
There were also pupcakes and home made frosty paws. Yum!

This pug's name is Gerty. She is a big sweetie and has the cutest face!

And this picture I'm so proud of - it's the first Hampton Roads pug-blog momma picture. Yup, all two of us:

That is me, on the right, with Jennifer, aka
Sequoia and Petunia's mom, on the left. We've both got our little rescue babies, Clementine and Petunia, Pres and VP of the tongues-sticking-out-club.
Yes, so we're a much smaller group than the Indiana plug-blog-mom group, but ya know....we've got gumption.
Oh, and of course - a picture of Clementine in her party garb:

You probably can't read it, but her t-shirt says "Too cool for obedience school" and has some old school ray bans.
We really appreciate Allyzabethe throwing this super fun party. And she even asked that guests bring donations for
MAPR, rather than gifts. She is so sweet! Petunia, Tallulah, and Sequoia - we hope you had a super fun birthday party!!
To finish off the post, here are so more random photos from the party:

(Yes, this dog actually IS Winston)

(no, this is not an overgrown pug, this is Buddy, the English Bulldog. poor thing probably thinks he's a pug...)

This is one of Allyzabethe's foster pugs through MAPR. It's either Quincy or Isabella...I think it's Isabella...I can't remember because they're both black....eeer, anyways - they are available as a couple on the MAPR website. Please go check out their
available dogs - there are some really wonderful pugs (and other breeds) listed that desperately need a home. And remember, if you can't adopt, you can always donate. We all know how expensive it is to own a dog, so imagine what these rescue organizations go through trying to care for, feed, and treat dozens of dogs at a time.

It looks like you had a pugtastic time at the birthday party. I'm not too keen on pools, but if it was hot enough I'm sure I'd go in. I really just go to parties for the food!

That looks like an awesome party! Wish we could have been there!
Keep working on recruiting bloggers and you'll soon have a group like the Indy Pug Bloggers! We find that peer pressure works best ;-)

That looked like a great party - I agree with Winston and Clemmie - I don't really like swimming either and the mommy hovers over me too when I am in the pool :)
