Foodie Friday #18 - Poochie Pops

Hello all, this week's recipe is a little different - it's a great summer recipe....for your DOG!

This recipe comes from Melissa; it's a submission straight from her Pug Notes newsletter. Sit back and enjoy!

Manon Doyle's Poochie Pops

Ingredients:

4 cups plain yogurt
A hand full of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or your favorite fruit
2 tablespoons organic honey
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
You may also need a little water to thin mixture down

Instructions:
-Puree in a food processor
-Pour into ice trays and freeze
-When they're frozen, pop them out of the tray and into a freezer bag.

Manon says her terrier, Otis loves them as a summer snack, "Yum! Perfect on a hot sunny day!"
Melissa also says "Emmitt loves fruity treats and this recipe was a big hit! It was easy to make it is fun to watch the pug eat something cold. Four paws up!"

To see pictures of this recipe and the original newsletter it came from, click here. While you're there - sign up for Melissa's newsletter. You'll get them every season and each one features a new recipe to spoil your own pooch with!

If you try this recipe - make sure to take picture, especially of the puggies and doggies enjoying their treat! Then email them to me at projectdogway@yahoo.com and I'll post them on a future Kitchen Adventures post.

If you have a recipe you'd like to submit for a future Foodie Friday, please email it to me with a short description and any pictures you have to projectdogway@yahoo.com

Hi Rachel! (And Clemmie and Winston!)
I am really excited to try these this summer! It hasn't been too hot here yet, but I am sure it will be soon.
My mom says thanks for posting all the info about CSA - it sounds super cool. We are going to see if there is anything like that around here.

Mom's going to have to try this one - minus the peanut butter. (I must be the only pug in the universe that can't eat peanut butter - it makes my tummy very upset!) But I LOVE fruit. I had my first regular ice cube one day last week and it was lots of fun! These sound much better.
